Christini Technologies, the world's leading developer Christini Technologies Takes All Wheel Drive to the Podium
Christini AWD Honda demonstrates performance benefits in first Enduro Race.
Philadelphia (PA) -- 10.19.2005 - The lightweight and highly efficient mechanical All Wheel Drive system pioneered and developed by Christini Technologies, demonstrated its traction and handling advantages in the Foggy Mountain Enduro, an 80 mile off-road enduro race in Blain Pa. The modified Honda CRF-250 piloted by Jeff Botsford made its way through the field to an impressive 2nd place finish in A class.
According to Jeff Botsford, an expert off-road rider, "the Christini All Wheel Drive system made the race much easier for me. I had more confidence to power through the corners and better overall control and stability on the straights. After the race I feel a lot less beat up compared to riding a normal bike."
Botsford's Honda CRF-250 equipped with a CHRISTINI AWD system is the result of years of engineering, prototyping, and testing. Christini first developed their AWD system for mountain bikes in the late 90s and several years ago began developing a similar mechanical system for motorcycles. The newly refined AWD system has seen many improvements such as a handlebar engagement switch to turn the AWD on and off at the rider's leisure. Other improvements in the area of weight and efficiency has allowed Christini to bring the system weight to just 15 lbs. and record power loss of only 0.5%.
According to Steven Christini, designer of the AWD technology, "the mechanical Christini All Wheel Drive system can easily be adapted to almost any current motorcycle design, and the performance benefits far outweigh the cost of the system." Christini plans to begin selling a limited number of after market AWD framesets in the next 18 months, but many customers are securing their place in line now.
The CHRISTINI AWD motorcycle design is protected by US patent # 6505699, related patents # 6161854, 6161855, 6182991, and international patents are pending.
